Time Log 8

4 hrs= Doing research, thinking over my process, what worked/ what didnt. During this time i tried to take what my classmates and Dr. Dash said during my mid critique and improve my pieces. I wanted to emphasis the writings more. So i decided to scan in thier writings, use photoshop to copy, overlap, and densely fill the page so that the writing was the black in the back ground. I will still use the inks as a way to emphasis the topic.

2.5 hrs= Photos, conceling, and as a group sending a girl to the councelor. She has made suicide attempts in the past week, is abuseing pills, and wrote some intense writings about death and being alone. I photographed her and i think it was a plee for help. Her friend (who i photoed earlier was there and we talked, later she went to the counselor and suggested that she talked to them.) I believe that this is a way for her to deal with her problems... for her to bring them more to life and i feel that she enjoyed being a part of my project and i took the time out to photo her and now talk to her when i see her. However, it was very emotionally draining to be there with her and her neg aura (it was worth it though)

2 hrs= printing off photos, making copies, working with photoshop.

Time Log 7- "The Night From Hell"

Time Log 7
*****I APOLOGISE IN ADAVANCE FOR THE VENTING*****
**********************************************
So this past week i new i needed to complete as many complete pieces as possible for the mid-critique; however, i still continued to put it off to the last min. (fall break didnt help). Before this weekend i printed off copies of thier insecurity sheets and thier photos to transfer, thinking i was going to do one or two before the weekend, and they sat on my dresser until today. Today, since the copies were no longer good for transfering, i made more copies. I then had painting, work in sculpture studio (cleaning out closet), ceramics, RA meeting, and Ultimate frisbee (we won 10-5) .... all of which took up my day. Finally, i got all my materials out to do drawing, started to transfer just to find out that for some reason NONE of my copies wanted to transfer. i dont know if the toner is messed up on the printer or what ( i used it on the previous projects). I began to get a little stressed but still being rational and thinking where i could go to make new copies. THEN, my girlfriend called (only because i had promised her that i would call her) and she was mad. She hung up and then called me back to tell me again that she was mad and then continue to text me about her being mad and how i dont care about her or the relationship.... This is the point in which i hit the point of being overwhelmed. i spent over an hour talking to her about me, about her, about us, and about how our relationship is going. Still dont know where it is right now, but we told each other good night and that we would think on it and talk again tomorrow. Now i come back into the room with all hope lost, all desire gone, exhaustion hitting me in the face and see my collage i did last week. I decided i would combine both ideas into one. So there you go, i used the pictures, tape, writings, marker, ink, glue, and oil pastels to create a new thing. I dont know if i want to continue in this direction; however it is a refreshing break from transfers (mainly because i FAILED at it tonight). Sorry for venting. hours for the week...

Time Log 6

4 hrs. collecting sheets and taking photos (4 different people)
i thought about doing a duo with a couple and showing the differences and similarities between the two. i took photos of them both with a mirror; however, the guys seemed more forced and not as natural. i felt as though the girls photos with the mirror were interesting because the reflection carried a different emotion.
3 hrs reworking and combinning old projects
i tried to use the old projects as an inspiration and create a "monster" created from different parts of the finished works. I wanted to combine thier insecurities and emotions from those to create ond disjunctive piece. I want to use unsuccessful pieces in this process.
TOTAL HOURS= 7 hrs
(i realize that i have not been putting enough time into actually doing the projects; however i want to challenge myself this next week and have 4 done for the critique aswell as have taken more photos and collected more insecurity sheets.)
