7 hours= thinking about my direction this year. I have developed my ideas multiple times throughout the week and they maintain the same general theme but changed in the process. Right now i still want to do a blueprint study of a vessel on a large sheet with a heavy wash. This would be mounted on a large wooden panel with a shelf built on the bottom to hold the constructed vessel itself. This would be made from a raku clay mixture, thrown to match the blueprint, bisque fired, broken, raku fired in different parts, and bound back together (displayed with all the cracks, different glazes, different textures shown right up next to each other). I would like for the wash and pieces to uphold the same essence as the portraits i was creating last semester and have them displayed together. The next step is deciding on if or how they can be linked.
4.5 hours= thinking about what it means to write a letter, what exactly does visual mean, and what was the first day of my life?? I noted that letters were normally written to someone from another, that something visual describes a moment in time and one could do it either through visual word play or visual descriptive marks. I knew I wanted to highlight my dad's death as the worst day of my life. I wanted to write a letter to him explaining what happened that day, how i felt, and to bring some closer to the incident. This would be shown with the box i found at his girlfriends house along with the only couple items i have of his.
TOTAL HOURS= 11.5 hours
